LG reveals the Ice Cream Sandwich Schedule

Hot on the heels of Samsung’s preliminary Ice Cream Sandwich update schedule for its Galaxy range of smartphones and tablets, LG has provided a few more details on their plans.
This is a follow-up to LG’s initial announcement, made last month, that they would be updating their Optimus range of smartphones with Android 4.0.  The post was made on theirofficial Facebook page, and includes some good news and some bad news.
The good news is, LG has expanded the list of devices which will benefit from an upgrade to the latest version of the OS, but the bad news is owners are going to have to wait until either the second or the third quarter of the year to see it.
Those devices set for a Q2 upgrade are as follows: The LG Optimus 2X, the brand-new Prada 3.0, the Optimus Sol, the Optimus LTE, the Eclipse and the LG myTouch Q.
For Q3, it’s the turn of the Optimus 3D, Optimus Black, Optimus Big, Optimus EX and Optimus Q2.  Several of these devices aren’t available in the UK, so don’t worry if you don’t recognise all the models.
LG promises to do everything they can to ‘offer a smooth OS upgrade in a timely manner,’ but does cover itself by adding that exact dates can vary, depending on network requirements.
